The large expanse of hard packed flat sand allows car access which is regulated by a seasonal Council warden. The bay has a rocky headland at its western end and when the tide recedes you can explore the rock pools, exposed caverns and multi coloured rock face. The area provides a rich feeding ground for various bird species. The beach is popular with kite-buggies and kite surfers and its gentle gradient also attracts bathers. Because of the ease of access for cars it is a popular spot for picnics and also for motor boats and water bikes which have a special zone designated for their use. Access onto the beach for disabled people is good.

Important! Tide times are for the nearest measurement point and may not be accurate for this location. You should not rely on these times for anything other than a broad indication of when the tide will be at its highest or lowest.
In particular, these tide times are not suitable for navigational use. Accurate tide forecasts require complex calculations and detailed local information. If you intend to engage in any activity for which tidal information is important for safety reasons (including sailing, powerboating, diving, and surfing) then you should obtain professional data.
